When you use the REACH statement with GRAPH_INTERNAL_FORMAT=THIN, PROC OPTGRAPH stops processing, and returns an exception:
ERROR: An exception has been encountered. Please contact technical support and provide them with the following traceback information: The SAS task name is [OPTGRAPH] Exception occurred at (0851C749) Task Traceback Address Frame (DBGHELP API Version 4.0 rev 5) 0851C749 083AFE48 tkegraph:\graph.c\Graph_GetNumNodes 2233 +(0x9) 084053AB 083AFF38 sasoptgr:\optgraph.c\sasoptgr 2522 +(0x182D) 01736CE4 083AFFA0 sashost:\vvtentr.c\vvtentr 239 +(0x17) 0173B438 083AFFB4 sashost:htthread+0x38 7C80B713 083AFFEC kernel32:GetModuleFileNameA+0x1B4
To avoid the problem, do not specify the GRAPH_INTERNAL_FORMAT= option (so that the default value, GRAPH_INTERNAL_FORMAT=FULL, is used instead).
Note: The default value, GRAPH_INTERNAL_FORMAT=FULL, requires more memory, so PROC OPTGRAPH might return an out-of-memory error for large data sets.
